About BRE Pulse

Helping communities keep and grow the businesses they have.

BRE Pulse is a Michigan-based company dedicated to improving the relationship between local government and the business community. We build BRE Pulse, the business retention CRM for economic development.

What we do

BRE Pulse is the day-to-day system for a business retention and expansion program. It starts from the business lists a community already has, helps staff visit and hear from every business, spots risk and expansion early, and makes sure every commitment is followed through and reported to the board.

Why we built it

Most communities believe they are business friendly. Survey data has repeatedly told a different story: businesses often rate their local governments far lower than officials expect. The gap exists not because officials don't care, but because there is no structured, continuous channel between a community and its businesses.

BRE Pulse keeps that channel open every day: one record per business, visits and check-ins, flags confirmed by a person, and follow-through that doesn't depend on anyone's memory.

Who we are

BRE Pulse was founded by Brian Crouse, who holds a Master of Public and Private Management from the Yale School of Management. He runs Waldenwoods Properties, LLC, a development company whose operating partnerships include a shopping center, a senior apartment community and a condominium development, and Waldenwoods Family Recreation Resort, a resort with membership, lodging, events and storage businesses. BRE Pulse is built by someone who works with local government from the business and development side every day.
